Um, redsleeves, you are way out of line, and perhaps on the wrong forum. If I wasn't going for a record 3 years without being censored, I would tell it like it is.
Just doing what I want now.

After reading here it is easy to see that those in more remote areas that depend on the land(and are thus more connected to it), to make all or part of their living consider taking as a harvest. Those from developed areas that consider take as a sport, not a necessity, consider it just a kill. You hear it all the time with people from up south calling trapping a "sport".
You know this here is a sport trapping hang out. Your always telling them how to do it. I'm pretty " connected to the land" and I realize the term " harvest" provides cover for sport hunting and trapping. You don't really need to be P.C., if you really live off the land. I look forward to shooting a moose like I look forward to cutting firewood; just a big pile of work!

Hey Redsleeves If you spend all your time in the woods to feed your family when do you have time to work for the highway department or is it the other way around? Just wondering.

The State of Alaska statues do not recognize the term "sport" in hunting or trapping, just in fishing. Look at your license. you can buy a sport fishing license, but you can only buy hunting or trapping licenses. All hunting and trapping are considered by statue and regulations as subsistence or general season. Oddly enough subsistence fishing does not require a license at all, though some road connected subsistence fisheries require a subsistence permit for fishing. Sport hunting and trapping is only used in the realm of federal law or regulations on federal land. The fed's interpret sport as non federally quantified uses/users.
Life is hard. It's even harder if your stupid!

Don't you ride around on the bravo for "fun". That is sort of funny.

Harvest implies the responsibility of management of the resource. Kill just means kill. Yep!
