Anyone see any advantages to the liquid castor on the market, versus paste lure style?

From what I've learned the liquid is usually being used as an additive for your own lure formulation, while the paste type lure is a ready to use formula.

Not that you can't use liquid castor straight.

A few beaver lures use tictured castor along with other additives. Just a different smell and being a liquid is just a by-product. Does make application at a set easier if it's in a squirt bottle.

I'm kind of new to lure making but one advantage I could possibly see is the liquid not being quite as strong odor wise so its easier to blend into a formulation if your wanting just a hint of castor. Some of my test patches I only use a very very small amount of castor paste to achieve desired odor. Plus liquid may blend through the formulation more uniformly.

If using it for beavers I prefer a paste,if for predators I prefer liquid

same here I tincture my castor for formulation but keep it thick for beavers. Ground green castor holds up to the elements considerabley better. Even flooding to some extent

Castorium...or Castoreum, depending who you ask.

Liquid will absorb into wood well, like a log end/limb stub, for a post set or rub set or even flat set, and I use it in a couple of lures I make.

It can be VERY strong when tinctured over years.
