I sold my old farm and bought a new one so I am far behind in my trap prep this year.

How long does it take the odor from full metal jacket dip to wear off??? I usually dip my traps once them let them dry 24 hours and dip them again. Then I usually let them hang outside for a month then I store them in rubbermaid containers.

I know if they don't air out enough the container smells like full metal jacket bad sometimes.

Back when I was using it I would hang them up to air out and in a few days them smell was gone, to my nose anyway.

I don't like to store them in a sealed container, but I keep them in open milk crates away from things that could contaminate outside. A day or two and there is no odor. It is a water based dip.

ive dipped them during season and used them with success the next day. 24 hrs with a good heat source and fan you will be fine.

That'a a nice feature of the water based dips.
(Dakota Line is the dip I have).

ive paint dipped mine so Dakota line is a no go for my traps now. Unless I strip them back to bare metal.

Thats why I use F1. Mixed with water and dryed overnight the traps are ready to set the next day. No smell.
I trap on a barrier island surrounded by salt water. I use it on all my land traps and all my water traps.
If I get a trap scraped up by a coyote, I power wash and redio in F1 again.
