Anyone use tainted liquified cow afterbirth as bait/lure for coyotes? Did you have any success? What time of year did it work the best? Did the coyotes roll in it? Thanks.

I know that the coyotes during the calving time move in to get the after birth.Beside any weak calves. So I think it dose not matter what time of the year it is used because some beef farmers have there cattle calf at different times of the year.

The liquid will cause rolling response especially if too much is used. I use the liquid in lures and prefer a more solid put up for bait. Still testing so dont have a definite opinion on how will it works. So far I'm getting positive responses put need to test more.

I went out with an area coyote Trapper just to see his set last March. (I catch some coyotes while he catches a lot more. ). It was very educational!

Anyway, he used the afterbirth locally called “cleanings”. The smell was horrific and he said it got worse as the days warmed. But his catch rate with it was impressive.

Back in the 70's and early 80's that was all my dad and I used for bait. Along with hog afterbirth. Both worked very well in a dirthole along with good pee.

A horse miscarried on a property that I'm trapping. I threw the fetus in the chicken coop that the coyotes have been raiding. The owners dogs wanted in really badly. We will see if the coyotes feel the same way.

I watch a documentary on Amazon about "Trapper Jake" and he used liquified horse afterbirth. He put it in a bone and he said it would keep the smell all season long.

I watched the same show on Amazon and figured I'd try it with cows. It didn't cost me much for five gallons worth other than dealing with the smell when I put it into jugs for the freezer.

In the fields where the dairy farmers were spreading, we would make a horseshoe set with manure and put the cleanings in the back for bait. Worked really well for Fox and coyotes.

Id say the Calf droppings with that Milk Colostrum would be great to put around also.
