The yotes are the best fur around here at this time, but I would think a fella could catch and put up coon 4 to 1 in the same time. This would make the coon pay better. I do not have many rats around, but if you have large numbers of rats they are super quick and easy, so a lot of cheap easy furs will out way a few higher dollar pelts. Bottom line is catch what you enjoy catching. The joy that comes with trapping is the best pay. I enjoy killin yotes so that is my target and the few big coon that always seem to find my yote sets are a welcome bonus.

Just curious about the numbers for the sake of conversation.

The only difference is- I have plenty of muskrats. A dozen 110 BG's, a dozen #1-#1.5 footholds, and a handful of colony traps= money in the bank! When life gets me down..... you know hunting/trapping season is closed.

I beetle clean the skulls and sell for $20-25 Castors and oil sacs are a few bucks I can sell the carcass for $20/ea I keep the tails and feet as misc trapping bait. Guts go in the wolf bait pile. The circle of life carries on..

I set dps and 220s for coon on the same permissions and if water is present mink,beaver and muskrats to pay for gas.
