Well if so. it's taking some real chances. No houses around here for at least 3 miles. The bridge is over an abandoned road. No one's crossed it for 30 years. This is known coyote country. Maybe the dog got dumped, but it won't last long.

Looks like it has that "bar" on the heel pad like a red fox. Maybe a kit red?? Jim

Nothing for size reference but it does not look like domestic to me. More like a coyote, long and narrow.
