Has anyone else had a problem with the switch over to capital one. My first billing statement from them has been lost and they said they will not send another till the 26th. The fellow I talked to said my payment will probably be late if I wait for them to send a new one and pay by check. I told him these are not my problems and he did not seem to agree.

I'm thinking of getting a new card somewhere else. Any great credit card suggestions.

Help yourself.

How close is your Cabelas from you? Just go to it and hand them the check. Even if itís an hour or two away would be worth it to me, to avoid them late payment fees.

Yes, I kissed them goodbye long ago, even before the switch. They were nothing but a pita!

i have about 8 cards.....i use chase visa freedom unlimited the most because i got 150 sign on bonus and a straight 1.5 cashback. When 5 %cashback i use chase unlimited on gas. I play the points big. I have capitol one for business cards but chase has been great to me..i never pay interest and charge 500-700 monthly because i spend that easily so i collect money for it. I buy traps.i get money back

I was going to make a payment online last week and when Capital One showed up instead they wanted information like my social security number to make sure it was me but I didnít give it I just sent the payment in even if it was going to be late I didnít trust giving my number online.

Did away with Cabelaís about 11 years ago, and have never missed them. They sold everybodyís cards back then also, then started a whole new program under their own bank. Everybody lost their points, and they turned everybodyís card into a WalMart card. Yes...I had a card that said Cabelaís on it, had a picture of Cabelaís store on it, and along with them taking my $100 worth of points away, they told me now it would earn points to spend at WalMart. They did offer to sell me ANOTHER card under ďThe Worldís Foremost BankĒ but didnít offer to give my $100 worth of points back that they took. I cut my card up at the customer service counter, and Iíve never been back, and I will take every opportunity I am given to tell everybody else what kind of crooks they are also. Itís pretty sad, a company as big as they are thinks little enough about their customers to even do something like that and think it is right. I considered going back when bass pro acquired them, but it sounds to me like Iím not missing anything.

I had issues as well with them, told them to chuck it. Went to the Chase Saphire Visa, hopefully they will be better.

I must be the only person on the planet to never have a problem with them. Been using them for at least 10 years. They haven't switched me over yet - maybe my luck is about to run out.

Jarrett I was thinking that I couldn't go to the store because it's not a Cabelas card anymore. I am not sure though. I will ask when I call again today, trying to get someone a little more understanding.

Grayfox, I did the same thing as you. I didn't log in for many reasons, one of which was there 20,000 word user agreement.

I'm looking into other cards for sure.

Help yourself.

Same. My bass pro card turned into a cash back card after the switch. Guess which one I use more now?

I've been a card member since 08 with absolutely 0 problems. No interest, no late fees, and thousands of dollars in points! If you play the game and place your orders on the 10% off day they offer frequently, figure in your points, and get free shipping their prices are pretty reasonable, and often times unbeatable.

Besides, it is so much fun to go into the store and leave with a new weapon without it costing you any money! (Although, it is a little frustrating dealing with their firearms prices and the guy behind the counter that usually seems to think he knows more about what you want than you do)

I was a little skeptical about the switch to MasterCard, but I've had no problems thus far and until I do I will continue to love my cabelas card

Cabelas screwed enough people when they sold out all their employees in Nebraska. Don't need anything they have.

Wish we had a Cabelas or a Fleet Farm store here in Northern Wisconsin!

THE WORLD'S foremost outfitter is gone. Cancelled backorders, not honoring lifetime warranty, bargain cave not what it used to be, and card mishaps. Major bank credits cards that pay cash back are better if you watch and don't pay interest example Bank of American. Cabela's and Bass Pro are off my radar. Many other options..

Had two new credit cards come in the mail, thought they were our new Cabelas cards, so I cut up the old ones. Only problem was it was a card I hardly ever use that came in the mail, I cut up that one last year, and now the Cabelas card I did use is cut up. So I will just use the gas card as the credit card for the near future.

There pay by phone is definitely messed up. My payment didn't go thru. After a couple of phone calls got it all straightened out. Late fee was waived as well. They will need time to work out the kinks

I have had great luck with my Cabelaís card. Playing the game has added up to thousands of dollars in gear/guns. I buy all my gas, groceries, etc on the Cabelaís card then pay one bill at the end of the month. As others have said 10% off day + free shipping + club points = some really good buys. It is painful buying firearms but that is due to the staff in the store. My last firearm buying experience was terrible. I had a handgun shipped to the store. I asked to inspect it before transfer and the sales guy would not let me touch it and continued with the paperwork. I had to get a manager involved before it was over with.

I am sceptical about the transfer to Capital One.

My statement arrived today, a week later than usual but we have 5 more days till the payment is due.

Any difference between a visa than a master card.

They wouldn't give me a card. I never understood it because my credit score is almost as high as it can get.

Same here. It took me all of about 5 minutes to switch over to Capital one. As soon as I can figure out what to buy with my points I will cancel my account though. Will look for something with frequent flyer miles points since me and wifey will be traveling when I retrire and have a system in place to use a cc to the max while keeping a zero balance.

I see the Cabelas brand better stuff going by the way side. IMO I always felt that Bass Pro was more of a southern type hunting store and Cabelas was the northern tier type of gear. Just my .02. I will be looking at new options in the future.I heard from a Field & Stream mgr that knows Johnny Morris is that he wanted the CC business and that there will never be a new Cabelas store built. The one near me was axed.

Yes,Ive been a holder since 06. I pay my balance in full every month by phone. This month (oct 8th) was no exception but had to go through a few more steps as they switched over. About a week later my card was denied. They claimed it was denied for nonpaynent. 45 minutes later I was told the card would be reactivated the next day and I would receive my next statement in December.
