John knows what I mean when I mention House mouse.
For you Non Marines It's a raw recruit that does menial tasks for the DI.

Actually, Tom Stalker is in central NY. Shipping might be about the same as from NC.

I knew that. I don't know why I said that.

Since I won't have time to trap until the end of November, I will spend the next few weeks shifting it into fur processing mode. The few tips I have are to make your work tables and stations mobile. Get one of ADC's skinning rigs. Do not build shelving, fit as many strong, adjustable, cheap Menards or Home Depot shelving units you can along the walls. Then, when your plans change, and they will, your storage needs can change right with them. Get a good loud stereo with speakers. I would much rather listen to music when putting up fur than having a tv on. Sounds like you will have a huge head start with the building you will use. Make it your own. A place you can go to and relax 365 days a year.

Sir, that is as fine of advice a man can get. Thank you for sharing. Who has some more. Better yet, who has the smallest area? I may be able to win. A spot I had years ago when I was stationed at Camp Lejeune. I had a 4x8 she'd that I couldn't stand in. I would sit on a bucket and work on fur. But I had electricity. Lol.

I've had an ADC Skinner for maybe 5 years or so. Love it to death.

JBelile - Great setup, the old schoolhouse is pretty cool also. Nice collection of patches you have going on there!

In Desert Shield/Desert Storm we were combat engineers, the rest of the time we were combat janitors or combat groundskeepers.

I knew it. Thanks for your service.

USMC47, Quick question, does the Corps still use the (Mechanical Mule) or is that a long gone item? Used to see them when I would be down at Pendleton on business from up at El Toro.

Sanford, if you mean the little 4 wheeled platform that could pull things around, they've been gone for quite a while now. In warehouse environments the supply guys now use trams that are similar to the airport buggies that pull luggage and whatnot. In combat, nearly everything is hauled by 7-ton trucks or HMMWVs.

A few pics of mine are in here this thread https://trapperman.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/6341406#Post6341406.

With that much space I would definitely, without question section off a fur drying room/area. Larger space is harder to regulate and control moisture, smaller closed in section you can stuff it full of fans and a de-humidifier.

Good luck!

Here is what a trapping shed might look like at my place, just before spring beaver season.

John I'd suggest a walk in cooler somewhere in your shop area, a space where you could either hang a beef or big game animals then a butcher shop area with a chest freezer or two close by since I've got a feeling you'll be doing something hunting as well.
A rail system into the cooler would be helpful also for dealing with 1/4's of beef or what ever a walk in freezer would be great also while I'm at it a smoker somewhere close by would be a great addition so you can make sausage, hams, jerky or ????
A area for a old ringer washing machine for muddy critters is critical with a rack or some sort to dry the fur, that when not in use will or could be moved out of the way.
A generator is another thing I'd add to the mix just because this is Montana and power outages are rare but still possible solar panels and a few batteries could be added also in time.
There ya go a little something to think about in your spare time ha ha
