Normally 7-10 days is about right for coyotes in my area and my style of trapping. After the catch drops off it is time to move on to new coyotes. I have no problem resetting properties after a month or so.

If it takes two months to make a catch it obviously isn’t a good location.

The thing is that I am not sure we have good populations so it can be slow going. In this part of Maine we have many logging roads that gives us great access. Yesterday I rode a 10-12 mile loop around the area I am set. I have 20 sets on locations where I see sign off and on throughout the year while riding my sled beaver trapping, ice fishing, hunting or whatever. These traps are sped out about 3-4 miles. Yesterday I only cut on pile of scat in that loop.
Its always odd how you can see decent sign in places then come trapping season they vanish. On the snow sled we can run all over and cut tracks of the same animal several times in a day and sometimes cover 2-3 miles on one track.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness
