Last year while I was checking traps on a beaver job, my buddy flew his drone. I totally forgot about the thing. He made a promotional video for me. He has flown many properties for me and has taken photos. They are incredibly helpful.
He has a drone commercial pilot’s license and is busy flying as much as he wants.

I would not use a drone to check traps because the drone would strain to fly out a beaver. Actually, I suspect some division of wildlife administration would love to run a test case for a conviction.

In this situation, he was not checking traps, he was just taking video. The drone is so quiet and I was concentrating on the work that I never heard it flying close above me.

Pretty sure we can't use them here to check traps, I swear I read it somewhere in our regs. Would be interesting but there is something to just getting out and walking over to check the sets too.
Thanks for sharing that.
Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Illegal to fly a drone over state land in NJ. Also, illegal to use them in hunting.
