Here is his set...couple of peeled sticks in the artificial castor mound, and a commercial/plug for Mr. Dobbins Backbreaker lure that Gunner applied to end of that black stick on top of that pile of mud, too. And the results...Gunner is right at 5' tall. Happy kid, happy landowner we shared the pic with, and isn't that better than sitting in front of the PlayStation all night? Later all! Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Yeah he's a little young yet to set big beaver traps so I showed him how to snare them a couple years ago. Works awesome for kids to catch beaver. Jim

Well done to both of you, him for catching, you for catching him and getting him started.

The blak spot, we just used some old snares I had from last couple seasons. No particular reason and this was a damage job so wasn't particular on what we grabbed either. This was a snare from blue valley trap supply, made locally close to us. 5/64" 1/19 cable, 5', small non-relaxing lock with a break-away s closure on lock and a deer stop. I believe these we're loaded too, and we're probably for cats but we had really good luck with them on just about everything we set them for Does that help? Jim

Curious...
What's the deal w/ all of the milk jugs? If I had to guess it is wax dirt.

All those milk jugs are locked and loaded with waxed dirt. Getting ready to set at end of this month. Jim
