Any tricks to catching coyotes but not fox? Had my pan tension at 4-4.5 pounds, still catching reds. Thoughts? Thanks.

Not sure how to do that with a 550. Dog is straight stock-- would I bend it up?

Don't think that would work out for you. Only way I know of would be to increase spring tension with heavier springs and I don't even know if that is possible with the 550.. How far back are you bedding the trap? Are you catching fox by the front foot or back?

Front foot. Probably too close to the dirt hole... maybe 5-6 inches to center of pan. Love catching fox, but I'd rather save reds and cull the yotes.

Yep, that will do it. I have to constantly remind myself when setting for the yotes to increase the distance from the hole or the attractant for the trap. Good luck!
