Anyone ever use goat meat for coyote bait? My kids had a couple get into some dog food over the weekend and it didn't go very well for them. They are the smaller goats crossed with fainting goat if that makes any difference. They never had any shots of any kind either. I was thinking about saving some for a bait base but if not I'll just use them at the bait stations for snares.

They couldn't b much different than deer. Coyotes eat my neighbor's goats pretty regular.

I would think as long as they haven't had any shots of any kind that they would be alright for bait. I would try some fresh and age some as well to see if that would make any difference.

Coyotes don't care about shots they don't discriminate. WE use expired sheep for bait piles and we catch some coyotes. so goats should work. If they are small stake them down so the coyotes won't be able to drag them off.
Chunk em up for bait or use them In carcass dumps.

Worst can happen is that they don't eat it. I think it's better tasting than lamb, so I'd try it.

I have cut up some stillborn goats and tossed em down a dirt hole. It works about as well as any other fresh cut bait. Also used scraps off of baby wild hogs, it works too. If i had a big goat i felt like skinning it might be good to grind it up and use it for a bait base. Cut up some castor, oil sacks, and tails and toss in the mix and im sure it would work fine. I know horse meat works too.

When I was in Jamaica, they had goats instead of beef. I ate quite a few of them suckers and they were pretty darn good.
And just like Beav, I was two sheets in the wind from about a half hour after I got off the plane until I left. I’d still eat it again sober though.

It's what's on the table for the Muslim crowd. When Virgil left NAFA he started raising goats to feed all the WI Muslims. LOL

Cant see why it wouldn't but.... a friend gave me a stinky stinky billy once. I drug that out to a wolf set and threw my gloves away after even touching it, my cloths even stunk, it wasn't from rot it was because he just stunk. I was certain wolves, yotes, fox, marten, wolverine would be all over it. I was actually worried would draw most of the marten away from rest of line and they would be camped there at the bait set until it was gone. Had it there for over two months, I didn't even have a raven hit it that i knew of, just couldn't believe it.

I know exactly what smell your talking about. We have a couple four year old fainting Billy goats. You can smell them 100 yards away if your down wind lol. These were young ones, they don't stink like the old Billy goats.

Caprito is not unborn goat. It is kid goat that is still nursing. Well prepared goat is like domestic deer meat.
