Some do, some don't. Personally, I do if it is a hard rain. Light rain and I leave it.

I only put fresh urine after a couple days of striaght rain. If they come to the smell of urine trust me they will pick up the lure and bait smell even after 3 weeks of rain.

See, I don't use much urine. Causes a lot of tripped traps from deer.

If you are getting a lot of tripped traps due to deer just place your urine 2 or 3 feet away from your set. It will still get them close enough to your set to catch onto your lure or bait smells coming out of your dirt hole.

A raccoon dug up my foot hold trap. He literally dug around it, and exposed it, without tripping it.
What am I doing wrong ?

I get 5-8 Raccoons for every 1 Fox on my cams. So my area is infested with Coons.. and I only want to catch a Fox.

Any tips?

Clear the coons out first, then start catching fox.

Coons are coons. Gang set hard, try to get them before they reach your canine set.

Set up some Dp's near by to intercept them before they reach your fox sets

If coons are digging up your traps they are most likely not bedded solid or are contaminated with lure or baits smells.

Coons will dig if the dirt over/around the trap is softer or different than the firmer ,surrounding ground. You may have done nothing wrong.Coons like to fiddle.

Truth

I'd probably not mess with DPs so much but stack up 4-5 dirt hole/ mouse hole sets and a blind set or three. Reason being fox are extremely rare in DP traps and coons get caught in fox sets just fine. I only use DP when trapping around a residence-barn area and just because I expect dogs there.

I agree. If you want to catch fox, I see no sense in setting "coon specific" traps.
