Well,
I have had the best week of trapping so far, that I can remember.
Last year I met two young guys trapping the same area as me, and they were very polite and asking questions. They wanted to see what I was catching so I stopped at their camp each day to show them the day's catch. At the end of the week they had a skunk. They were trying to learn how to trap so I told them to contact me this year if they were coming up. They did a few weeks back and plans were laid. I told them we would set all of my traps, and all of theirs, and they could have all the fur we caught.
Started Saturday and had a blast, it is amazing what a guy can get done with two young guys helping.
Sunday morning I thought it was going to be a long week, we caught a skunk and I was sure they carried a curse or something.
Monday there were still no tracks to be seen in the area, but we did get one nice dark Marten.

They said then that their trip was already a success.

Tuesday still not a track in sight. I told them when the animals started moving again, it would be a great day for them.
Today, I was not able to go out for the morning check, but got a text from them that they got the first cat of their lives! Excited would be an understatement.

I got down an hour later and said we should return to one of the other sets they had checked this morning to get the trail cam card. Imagine our surprise when there was already a cat in it! Now they were really wound up!

So it was a great day for all. We got them all registered, and on the boards.

Not taking a single fur this season, and it is shaping up to be my best year yet.

Well done sir. Nice cats that are coming in.

You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?
