Today I went and made a bunch of pre-baited cubbies for fisher. I put cameras on them so I can tell what is working them when fisher comes in. When I set them should I anchor them solid or can I use drags? I would rather use drags, but I don't want to have to knock it out of a tree if I get one. Thanks

Lethal sets are best for fisher,if legal. That said,if you have to use live holding traps,I would stake solid with a short chain and lots of swivels.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

We can't use conibears on land, so that's the way I'll have to go.

Use conibears in elevated tree/leaning pole sets. They have no ad version to climbing. [Linked Image]

No conibears on land? Even elevated sets? That's brutal.

BCTomCat do you get about equal amounts of both males and females on your running pole sets?

Yes

We don't have a big population of them here, there is a ten day season, we only are allowed one with a permit.

I use a fencing staple and nail my chain to a tree root. I couldn’t imagine trying to pull a fisher out of or off of a tree branch.

My heart belongs to my family.
My body belongs to my work.
My soul belongs to the woods.
