Jonathan OP "Wilson" Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 10,488 Northwestern New York(Elder)	Two of my best catches today in the share - a Horned Grebe with a yellow perch minnow and a Meadow Vole eating bird seed in my brush pile. Jonathan Camera Gear: Canon EOS 7D-MK-II, Canon EF-S 10-22mm, EF 28-135mm, EF 100-400mm and EF 400mm lenses.

Nativetrapper10 trapper N Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 119 South Dakota	great photos, however the bottom picture is not a meadow vole....meadow voles have a short nose and a short tail. the critter you have is in the genus rattus, but i cant say which species. they all look alike to me

But the second picture even though it was in a meadow it is not a meadow vole. The long bare tail and the pointed nose is the throw back. Judging by seed size besides the vermin it was small and Norway rats don't have that pelage when they are young so it is leading toward a house mouse, Mus domesticus
