Would there be anything wrong to put a castor mound on a 45 degree slide on the bank?

Thanks for your input

I would never, but that’s me. Why block a slide they’re already using?

If it’s active, set it blind. Make a castor set nearby.

If anything goes wrong (someone using lure pinched them), you may very well kill that slide.

Always keep busy natural trails lure free in my opinion

What Aix said leave the used slides alone. Fake Castor Mound with a Good Lire on a stick [even at an angle] on a Fake slide works SUPER for me.

I set castor mounds on slides all the time. Its the only way most times to set on the rivers without going for a swim if you're not using a boat. Course my banks are nearly vertical so that adds the degree of difficulty that most people probably shouldnt attempt...

What do you mean by a "slide".A trail where they are skidding cut feed,or the crossover trail on the dam.
I will set the crossover,at the bottom, and perhaps also at the top especially if there is a skiff of ice or if it is below freezing at night.
I would not set the skidway as you could get fired traps from them carrying sticks and logs.
A good set for lure is to slick up a few spots on each side of the creek/pond with your boot,on the bank between the house and where they are cutting feed.Make your sets there at the shoreline, with lure just behind the trap on the ground.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Castor mounds are my go to set and slicking up a bank as Boco mentioned can be highly productive, I whittle up a piece of aspen to add to the eye appeal and often I've used white PVC to shove in the bank.

If you have a natural take out where their going up to feed there Is no need to make a castor mound . It's as natural as It gets no sense In changing things.
Now If you want to make your own slide then a bit of castor won't hurt anything. But a bit of sac oil might be a better choice. The sac oil Is not a aggressive type scent .
