I seem to have ever grinner in the world showing up at my k9 and coon sets.
Caught 8 today on one property.
Dad gone it! These things are driving me nuts.
If it wasn't for beavers, I'd be just driving all over creation for nothing.
Anybody else having the same problem?

If Illinois is “warmer climate” then Georgia must be the tropics, lol!!

I don't think NAFA is even buying them this season.
I sent in a few last season and none of them sold.

Caught over 70 last year. Lot less this year so far. 4 But I am starting on some new properties so I'm sure I'll have to thin them out on them thus season

Every day is a gift from GOD, don't waste it!!

If they have plenty of food, give them something interesting to smell

The turkey's will love you for catching those egg eaters.
I caught one I'm getting a hat made out of. He's a razorback, extra long mohock down the middle of her back to the tail. And I left the tail and feet on.

Sounds like you need to check your pan tension. 5 lb pan tension will cut down on wasted sets. If getting single leg catches on grinner I'd say your pans are on light side.

Isn't it a little hard to catch gray fox or even red fox with five pound of pan tension?

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

I should add fox are few an far between where I'm at. I guess when I saw k9 I took it for coyote. (My mistake). An yes I bet 5 lb is to hvy if your also after fox. I had trouble with grinners my first couple seasons and upping pan tension did wonders for my line cats/yotes

Sometimes we have to clean the “trash” out before we get down to business. I have the same problem with coons at cat sets. I hate trapping cats until it’s real cold and the coon are laid up for this reason alone.

I agree with sac creek.Use species specific sets beforehand or at the same time,to get rid of the possums and coon so there wont be as many plugging the traps when you set for the more valuable fur.

Its like when we trap otter that prime up late,we get rid of the beaver beforehand with species specific beaver sets that wont catch otter, then we wont have a beaver plugging up an otter set.Nothing worse than a beaver or rat in an otter trap, when the otters only come by every 7 to 10 days.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Shawnee....set up some bodygripper boxes and then set your 'yote traps. Not perfect... but the box acts like a call station and will pick off your 'possums and then you can set up your footholds for canines. After about a week off catching possums skunks and coons you'll have them somewhat thinned down then set your footholds.

Just make your sets. The coyote love remakes from anything but another coyote.

Wish I had more time to trap....
