Hi all, I’m trying to find a propane torch device for trap boiling. It is like a weed burner but made for trappers. It has a long feed pipe then a right angle bend up to the torch head. Most I have seen are painted red. Anyone know who makes or sells these?
Thanks

HOWEVER: I think you will be disapointed in the length of time it takes to boil a bucket of water. I use one of my propane fish cookers.

X2 I use a turkey fryer with a 20 to 25 gal can for boiling.

A good ole wood fire will get it boiling faster than anything.

Thanks guys
I’m currently using a beer keg on a turkey cooker. Works fine but was thinking about putting something a bit bigger together. It was either a convention or a website where I saw the type I am trying to find. It is a lot higher BTU unit than a simple weed burner. Still looking.

I would check on some brewing websites like morebeer or northern brewer. They have some high quality burners.

I think what you are talking about was designed and built in small numbers by a trapper a few years ago, I recall seeing pictures he posted on a couple of other forums; but don't recall who it was. I do remember he said it was faster than a fish/turkey cooker and had some with multiple burners. Weed burner heads use three or five (maybe10x) times as much gas as fryers and make heat way quicker, I believe he used weed burner heads, at high pressure.
For high pressure burners to build your own, I'd look here https://gashosesandregulators.com/Cast-Iron-Burners/41
or a similar supplier

Anybody ever tried boiling traps with a rocket stove? I believe it was John Houben that I was talking to that was considering building a rocket stove to try to boil his traps. I’m not sure if he ever made one or not, but I will be sure to ask him the next time I see him.
