The Snare Shop makes one, as does Z traps. Anyone have experience with either? The one Z trap makes has a back door for loading/cleaning out bait. Is it a feature worth considering?

Used them for three years and never caught a skunk, I've learned to use cage traps and not get sprayed

If they have plenty of food, give them something interesting to smell

Have two of the snare shops. Well built trap. If I bought them again I would get the 10 inch. Would be more versatile for coon also.

I prefer the snare shop trap because it keeps raccoons away. Baited with skunk treats. When I setup for skunks, I want to catch skunks.

If I see mixed lawn damage, I also usually set a cage for raccoons nearby.

I have caught a lot of skunks in the ones from the snare shop. Some really big ones. The biggest one I ever got was squeezed in so tight that I had to stand on the trap and pull him out by his hind legs. After he was dead , of course. Occasionally I run into one that won't go in the tube and I have to set a cage but not that often. I just bought two of the Z traps. Found them on sale at my local Fur - Fin - Feather for $34.95. They look like really good traps. I'm sure they will work as well as the ones from Snare Shop.

I think mine is from the Snare Shop, and if I got another one, it would be a little bit larger diameter one. Maybe 8” or something like that.
