Not talking about dispatch. But the best way to secure the trap to the stick. I brought the stick, but the holder only fits certain brand traps. Otherwise 1 notch is too big, the 2nd notch is too small.
There must be a better way to secure the trap to the stick.

How about clamping 1 end to a stick? But then the stick would jump out of your hand when the dog is released. I imagine with some forced when the spring is released.

any other ideas ?

What kind of set are you trying to make with a bodygrip on a stick? There are several methods to attach a bodygrip to a pole, depending on what type of set you want to make.

What sized Body grip are you talking about.? If It has two springs just set the trap pull the springs In toward the jaws. Then just slide your stick through the spring eyes. Then once you have decided the depth just spread out the springs and that will lock the trap in place.
Zip tie the chain In place so when the trap goes off It won't slid to the bottom.
You can also just zip tie one of the body grip jaws to your stick. Use 2 zip ties one at each of the corners to keep It In place.

I'm talking about a dispatch stick. where a 160 goes on the end of a broom stick handle.
But my last thread was deleted...…………………………..

Well you could just take a length of 1" conduit and flatten out about 4" of one end. Then take a 4" wide board that actually measures 3 1/2". Then cut It 3" long then bolt the board on to the conduit. Drive 2 nails about 21/2" apart near the front edge. Make sure they stick up about 1". Then set your trap and lay the jaw against the front side of the nails. Then scribe a line along the Inside edge of the back jaw. Then drive 2 nails like you did on the front jaw. But drive them on the back side of the line. This will allow you to set the trap and It will be pretty tight when set against the nails.
Make sure the nails are on the inside of both jaws otherwise it won't go off. LOL
Then you can cut the conduit to what ever length you want. Or you could use a piece of 1X2.

I was successful using the store brought stick. It was kinda flimsy. But did the job.
