Anyone use the Gopherhawk traps for moles and gophers?

A friend of mine tried some and says they are awesome for both. He's not much of a trapper but says he catches both with ease with them. Figure if this trap works for him, It might be a decent product. The design looks kinda of neat anyhow.

I looked up the Gopherhawk trap. First off it is pricey! $32.99 plus shipping. Placement could be tricky, because you are never sure the trap is in the center of the run. For ADC work, I do not like anything sticking up out of the ground except the flag, to easy for someone to walk off with the trap. They would be great for those real deep run's. JMO

$25 shipped on Amazon.
Yeah, they abit spendy but if something works well....

And to say my buddy whos "not much of a trapper" who loves them is a gross understatement. I'm surprised he can tie his shoes most days without screwing it up, would be more accurate.

I do not think they would work very well on shallow runs, they would be top heavy. I see you have to dig them up IF a mole is caught.

My buddy had vids of his and he just pulled them straight out and the moles and gophers were with the trap.

Well, apparently they are newer than I thought. I'll have to buy a couple I guess and give them a try.

I bought one after reading this thread- https://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,233614.0/topicseen.html

Have not used it yet. The Victor scissor traps have been a mainstay for us. The OP said that he was selling his Victors at a garage sale after using the Gopherhawk. That's high enough praise for me to give them a shot.

Seeing how they are designed I am not sure how durable they would be for commercial work daily. Those little wire bottoms I can see that you would have to keep them in good condition without too much bending to the system or they may not function as intended.

For consumer use with lots of time to fool around they may work well. I would think the digging up is done or needed to prevent damage to the wire ends at the bottom with the captured animal.
