I was needing honest opinions. Is a spray proof skunk trap worth buying. Just wanted to know before shelling the money out.

I run quite a few of the plastic catches. I absolutely love them. You cant rough horse with them, but slow and easy and no train wrecks.

Been using them during the summer on ADC for the last 20 years and for me they are more than paid for. I keep a tote box that is just a little longer than the trap and fill it with water. Most home owners are amazed that they don't smell anything while I'm doing it.

Dry Fishy cat food....trailed in lightly, fish oil dribbled in , Cheetos trailed into a tube trap has worked well for me also LOL! I like the 6" tube traps the Best sold by Kirk Dekalb on this site as Kirk De.

JMO. NO. Those traps are more of a specific trap, and even then still don't think they are worth the money. JMO..we trap skunk year round with covered cages, they are more of a universal trap when utilized with covers. Basket or bait stick suspended in the rear of the cage with a lure designed to take skunk is all we use. No heavy lifting wen it comes to baiting/luring skunk. May help https://trapperman.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/5987333/best_trap_for_skunks?

There is no such thing as a 'spray proof' trap. Skunks can and sometimes will spray in any trap. Whether they spray or not is a matter of how they are handled not what kind of trap they are in,

I tried the pvc/spray proof traps but found them heavy and expensive. They have very little ventilation compared to covered cages. I had noticeably more refusals when using the smaller 6" versions.

On the plus side, some customers seem to feel more comfortable with them and they eliminate all digging damage.
