At the last minute it looks like I will be able to run a short canine line starting Saturday. How should I prep my traps? Some are waxed an never set , some were set without a catch, and the rest had catches. Don't have much time to get ready.

Being short on time, I would boil the traps that had catches and rewax. The others I would set.

If short on time take the traps that have produced dto a car wash and pressure wash them real good then reset.

If the traps that produced caught canines i would use as is unless there is blood. If so clean it off. We don't replace a trap every time we make a catch.

Just set them as is. If they have been waxed with no catches, why do again.

Do NOT re boil and wax them at this point!

Wax in NOT odorless....at all. All fresh wax...or even die will do at this point is add scent.

Over the years the amount of diggers I've had can mostly be attributed to freshly waxed traps. Got caught on that one again this year (new wax)….and I know better.

Use them how they are (depending on where they were stored of course). At most, the ones that had catches previously, soak, spray them off and set.
