I wish Toyota, Nissan or Isuzu (the maker of Duramax motors) would start building heavy-duty trucks. Gas or diesel, the “Big 3” need some stuff competition in that market.
Boco couldn't catch a cold. But if he did, it would be Top Lot.

So you’re implying Toyota’s cost more than an equivalent Chevy? I didn’t find that to be the case. My ‘16 Tacoma was the same, or slightly less than a comparable Colorado. And a much better built truck. IMO
Plus proven higher resale vehicle.
Have yet to buy new. Those Tundras do hold their value and thus keeping them out of my range. I'm sure they're worth every penny though. My buddy bought one new 10 years ago and workswork it hard and still it seems like a new truck.

In another post(pearl harbour) someone said that the Japanese companys like Toyota used American and Commonwealth slave labour (captured ww2 soldiers)to enrich their companys and many are inadvertently supporting that by buying their products today. Interesting. Got any credible references off hand?

If Toyota (non union) and GM (union) vehicles cost the same...and all this profit from the vehicles are going to “overpaid” employees and pensions, what is Toyota doing with that extra money????? Using it to build quality trucks?
Eh...wot?

im thinking my next pickup needs to be one without sensors and computers so I can do all my own maintenance. one coil, one distributer, one plug per cylinder. A manual transmission. I don't need or want abs brakes or air bags. I don't need or want fuel injection or a catalytic converter. a mechanical fuel pump on the side of the block will be just fine. looking at new ones they are loaded with useless electronic junk ill never use. starting with a little tv screen and voice commands for cell phone and radio. I just want one I can chain up and crawl back into my coyote sets. most of the time simple is best. antique tags are cheaper anyway.
really enjoying my global warming today. 15 degrees. read where the Carolinas are about to get some big snow.
lets not forget Chrysler. Carter put together and Reagan bailed out Chrysler. Bailing out chevy was no different than that or bailing out the banks. You only go bankrupt now if your a small business.
I don't think anybody makes a simple go where you need to, 300 h.p. pickup that will pull a trailer, no carpet no electric windows or regular keyed pickup. I must be the only man in America who doesn't want to be forced to pay for all that useless fooforraw

You ain't the only man in America that doesn't want all that extra crap. But, like you said, nobody builds a regular truck anymore. The government won't let them!
Eh...wot?

Its pretty easy to verify for yourself that americans were starved beaten and other wise tortured by the japanese in WWII. Pretty easy to verify they were slaves used by japanese manufacturers. no clue why someone is ambitious enough to ask someone for a link but not ambitious enough to type their question into a search engine

We all should know the Japanese did some pretty bad things in history but they are hardly unique in that.

Sending it back to their country to boost the economy, more rice fields and children working in factories instead of going to school like the children do here in the states..
