When building or re-building wolf snares, (in my case, 3/32", 1x19), do most twist a swivel/pigtail in the 9 wire, then crimp or swag a stop on the cable?
What about using a furrell to join the two? I have snares that need new #9 attached, but building snares is something I have never done.

I just use a double aluminum fairell (3/32) and crip the two together. works just fine.

That is what I needed to know.
So, no stops, just swag the furrell.

Many years ago I bought some snares from a guy that assured me he tested the swivels between a pick up and tree. Well the first wolf was an alpha and broke the swivel without even a struggle! Thats MY first and last experience with swivels.

I do the same as isnarewolves, never had a issue or a failure. The one thing I do recommend is that you take a look at how your going to transport / store them. I normally coil them over a small coffee can, and transport in a small bucket. Take the time to bend the wire near the connection so that the cable lays right when you go to hang them.

I do both ways but prefer the pigtail because I can adjust loop size depending on location.

I do this too, I do bend the end of my #9 wire up just a tad where it goes through the ferrule but its probably not necessary.

do unto others as you would have them do unto you

JR, do you make and sell the pigtail jigs? If so I’d like to buy a couple. Where can I find them?

I just made a few for myself and buddies. Had enough interest so built a dozen and been selling them for $50 each. They make pigtails and swivels

Thanks, all.
J.R., didn't I see a video or pics of your jig and turning tool somewhere?
I think rosscoak made something, too.
