I did a search before posting, but couldn’t find anything. This may be stupid question, but does the Full Moon have any affect, positive or negative, on catches?

I have noted that it will slow movement on the lines considerably for raccoons, coyotes, and fox. I have found the opposite to be true for bobcats. Most of my multiple catch nights on cats have been on full moon nights. The moon and the barometric pressure are two things I really pay attention to on the line. The only thing I can attribute the moon improving cat catches is the fact they are crepuscular and the full moon essentially has this effect on the horizon the entire night. I can't prove it, but that's my thoughts on it.

Usually a full moon knocks my catches big time but we had a good check yesterday , 9 coyotes and a fox . I think the fact that we have had hi winds for a week and finally they stopped Friday and it was calm all night had something to do with it . The fact that we have no snow helps too , its not quite so bright .

I need you to comment more! Checked my traps at my small acreage and had Bobcat #2!

For me it’s not the actual pressure but a change. Best catches when it deviates up or down at least two degrees from our usual which is around 30mmhg. I check it every morning before I go out as I check the weather. Easy to do.

Wannabe nice cat I think if you watch your cat catches in the future you’ll notice a trend.

I have watched this full moon thing for a couple years, all I can say is that on the full moon cycle , I catch nothing.
