Looking through the archives trying to get different ideas for simplified bottle and jar filling. I need to get more efficient. Nothing in the archives. If you've simplified bottle and jar filling what's your method? Thanks in advance

I’m no authority, but maybe an icing bag with a bigger hole cut in the end, or a jerky gun?

I've simplified it by handing the task down to my son, he fills the bottles, jars and packs. I'm looking into a manual pressure/piston filler for him due to larger batches being made. Think that's the way to go.

There are several options for container filling. Whether you are filling flowable products or paste types determine your options to a great degree. Also the volume you are working with per container size. Are they wide mouth or bottle neck type containers? Many formulators have both products to bottle. If your volume is considerable machine loaders are the way to go. We have had drums shipped out to a bottling company in years paste however it is costly due to the shipping out and back..

We have researched this for many years and found that not any one machine fits every situation. Some units require the product to be heated or warmed to some degree to allow the material to be delivered more easily and to reduce air pockets in the material when bottling. Fluids products are easy to mass bottle and it is something you can build yourself.

We have done most everything over the years. Manual filling takes time but also gives you the best quality control without all the clean out that you do when switching products after one run of a certain product and preparing for another. Some skip this part but it can give you considerable cross odor transfer to the first few bottles of a new product.

Kind of like getting a certain candy that has several flavors run from the same machine. It may say strawberry candy flavor on the package but parts of it taste like banana or spearmint etc.

The pre measured throw machines are not cheap particularly the ones that will do viscous materials accurately and consistently.

Funnel and wooden dowel here. Time consuming when doing hundreds of bottles at a sitting. Fortunately for me, my son comes over and fills bottles one day a week.

Thanks all. I have several consistencies to deal with. The liquid ones are easy. A tea jar and just fill from the spigot. For a while I've used syringes with the end cut off for the thicker stuff. Wider syringe fits into the end of a wide mouth one ounce jar. Have to reload each time which is tedious. I'm going to look into kethchup dispensers for the thicker stuff. Not sure how that will work. Thinking about a sausage stuffer for filling bait jars
