i couldn't get a fox to step inside the tire.about a half dozen worked it though and i coulda moved the trap to the outside and made it work as a post set but that wasn't my purpose so i didn't.other sets close by caugfht most anyway.

Yes It did but I never knew It till about 4 days after the catch. The guys land I trap on plows a path all the way around his land so I can dive It. cool right.
Well I went by one day and the trap was sprung so since every thing was froze up I just left It. A couple of days later I was checking for tracks and Danny flagged me down and said he had big boar coon for me. So I did make a catch. never had a coyote work the tire.

I have this farm that has hardly no top soil and It's all rock so you can't get In a stake. So I'm thinking next year I'll set up a few tires and use them as eye appeal and will use them as drags.

I think I will use a tire on the farm where the tire pile is located. But I'm going to use it as a scent post or flat set. They do have eye appeal.

Not from me.

But last year they had a shutter bug running with them that took 100s of pictures. Not sure If they are available or not.

Head of the study Is a member here maybe he would post some of those pictures.

They treat those coyotes like royalty. Catch pole, knock out drug. Once It's down they cover It's eyes so they don't dry out. Lay It on a tarp. Then they weigh It take blood, ear tag It then collar It. And I don't know what else they do but It's a drawn out process.
WE normally will have them carry the coyote at least 50 yards from the catch site so we can re make It.

It's kind of a pain waiting for them to show up. And one day we had 4 coyotes to take care of. So we really can't run to much property.
But The moneys good.

ive had three tires I bait up all summer to get yotes trained to step in them to eat! I plan to make a few tire sets in that immediate area and see how well they are trained it takes them along time to start using them. I try and set them up in known denning areas! Using the scraps from smoking whole hogs and try hard to get majority of the scraps up in the tire, So they have to really work to lick out all that rancid smoked fat. this will be my 5th summer of doing it so hope fully ive got a few family groups trained to eat from a tire.
