ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has granted clemency to 29 individuals — many of whom faced the risk of deportation.

The Democratic governor pardoned 22 people and commuted the sentences of seven others on Monday, the final day of the year.

Many of those receiving a pardon were facing the possibility of deportation because of their criminal record.

Cuomo says New York must stand up for its immigrant families as Republican President Donald Trump works to keep immigrants from coming to the U.S.

Cuomo’s office says all of those receiving pardons have demonstrated their rehabilitation and have gone without committing any additional crimes. Officials say the seven individuals set to be released from prison have all turned their lives around by pursuing an education and working to help fellow inmates.

So they didn’t commit any additional crimes while in prison? Hmmm? They must be great people? But should at least be deported to California.

We are in a mess for sure. Today I saw where Detroit City has 70,000 abandoned buildings, 30,000 abandoned homes, 170,000 vacant lots......and the white population of the city is 9.9%. Well there's the problem! Nearly 10% of the population is white crackers!!!!!!!!!!!
Chicago is 32% whites. No wonder there's so much crime!!

That's about it for good things . It's the city that is the problem. Almost all upstate counties voted Republican. Unfortunately the population of the city over takes those votes . Plus taxes are high to pay for all the city crap and welfare programs

If you would ever visit the Detroit area, just pass through on I-75 going south to north.

You will see houses, buildings(used to be factories) and slum everywhere.

Then you have the Democratic Mayors who are always sooooo proud of the work their doing to upgrade everything.

That city milks a lot of the states money for renewal of the highways and city streets.

Now we have a new Democrat Governor who has promised to "Fix the Dam Roads" through her political ads.

And she announced a couple of days ago, she was going to get together a group to discuss how to go about it!

We're in for a long rocky road for 4 years.

NY is sucking worse and worse, I love my son dearly, but told him to get out now, Hes moving to Texas at the end of the month, my daughter is already there, Im staying...but encouraging my wife to move.....

NYS has in the past and is still leading the US in terms of residents leaving for other states.

I wish it was just that easy to move, but I got kids and family here. I will never leave my family or tuck my tail and run. This state is beautiful, and I intend to stay here and fight the fight against all the libtards including CUOMO

That tool CUOMO only won 6 out of 50 counties in upstate (2018), just like he lost in 2014.
Unfortunately upstate NY does not get to elect its own governor. (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) city folk, I wish we could separate upstate from downstate.
