I thought the title would get some views. LOL This is my first black coyote and I may be a little biased since this is the first one I have seen in person but I think it is really pretty compared to pictures I have seen of other black coyotes. It is not the typical black as it has the silver guard hair like a silver fox. Trapping can be expensive when you catch something you have to get mounted. LOL I won't start my trapping vacation for a couple weeks but I did set a few traps behind my house Saturday since I had a long weekend and caught two coyote and two possum. I caught this black one yesterday and the first coyote I caught Saturday night by 9pm. I know this because I let our house dogs out in the back yard and one started throwing a fit. I shined a flash light and could see eyes so I went and dispatched it. So much for first night catch, how about first few hours catch. These traps are on eight acres and all the sets are within view of my back porch. My go to traps are MB550s but I set MB450s this weekend and they do just fine on coyotes as you can see. I do have some history with this black one, or at least one like him, as I got a picture last fall on a trail camera. Hope you enjoy!

Very nice! I've caught 2 black ones and have seen probably a dozen more over the years that others have either caught or killed and yours is by far the most unique and prettiest! The silver guard hair really makes it stand out.

That is a dandy, definitely a keeper. I would be tempted to have a full length hat made from it.

Does anyone look at that head closely and see dog? Domestic dog coyote cross? Just a thought. First thing I thought. Ears and face. Beautiful unique critter. I'd mount it for sure. Rug or ornamental display of some kind.
