Today I had a nice prime coon which would have certainly gone XXXL ,but on the back of the neck was an area 3" long by about 1 1/2" wide that was dried brown hide no fur. Looked more like a old wound than a rub. A few days back I had another XXL to XXXL coon that had a 2" circle on it's hip that was down to dried red muscle tissue. I released both thinking these spots would render the hides near worthless, was I correct in doing so ? ( in it for the fur not ADC) Surely these "defects" would be easily seen and downgraded to damaged, right ? Are they worth putting up despite the fur loss ? Just curious for future reference. -Thanks

I would say you did the right thing. A rub/wound like that would surely bring down the price on an already low value item. Im sure more will be like that during this time of year.

I'd of released them as well.
