Fighting a terrible cold/flu and still trying to work 7 days and run the line. I got a coyote and a few coons skinned out and put in the fridge for fleshing. Hoping a few more (3 or 4) days I might get to feeling better, will they be okay for that long or should a freeze them and thaw when ready ? -Thanks

I'm no pro but I would freeze them. I have had hides in the fridge go bad and slip from sitting in the fridge and not freezing

When in doubt freeze them but wrap them starting at the tail so when your feeling better the furs can be hung up by the nose and gravity can help a little bit. I hope your feeling better soon !

If the fur is dry they will keep in the fridge for several days without issue.Myself,I would freeze them.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I freeze all my furs. When season slows down I pull and flesh them.

In a cold fridge 3 or 4 days easily. Just don’t roll them up or stack them until they are really cold.

Refrigerated, beaver hides will last five days or so. After that they develop a bit of a rancid smell. As soon as you detect that, it's time to flesh now. One more day and they run the risk of slipping.

Other critters are similar. Also, when freezing short term I do not roll. I lay flat. Reason is, a flat critter defrosts in an hour. A rolled critter takes a lot longer due to the fur insulating the center.
