If the Electoral College is eliminated or if electoral votes were awarded proportionally, I doubt any Republican would be elected to the office of President again. The majority of voters in large urban centers are Democrats. They far outnumber rural voters, the majority of which are Republicans. Look at any election map, the entire Country is red except for urban centers.

The framers understood this and created an ingenious method of leveling the playing field; The Electoral College.

Liberals aren't stupid, they understand this. They own the media, they own education and now they want to own presidential elections. If the Republican's track record over the last five or six decades is any indication of their effectiveness in forestalling the Democratic takeover of American institutions, we''re doomed.
