Anyone have any thoughts on pan tension for bobcats?

I would use some too keep the rabbits out.
And I use more to keep the kittens out also but that's because we have a personal quota .
But thats what i do
Imo its personal choice thing, what works for ya.

I haven't trapped specifically for cats, but they seem to get caught just fine in my coyote traps with 3 lbs pressure

And full pad catches with 3# too. Like you, not targeting them, but can’t keep them out of the coyote sets.

Caught one yesterday morning but had to release it because I don't have a tag.
That said, am running 3 to 3 1/2 pounds of pan tension on Victor #3 square jaws with new springs.


Shawnee National Forest - We live out here because we're not all there.

cats and coyotes are about the same weight- so what ever you like for one works for the other- anything up to about 7# should work

Thing to remember is the pan tension is not for your target animal- it is to keep unwanted stuff from tripping the trap, as Red mentioned above.
