I did a search around for anything about gland removal. Does anyone know of a good thread about gland removal from the different fur bearers? Or a good place to get the information of what glands and where to find them on the carcass? Any help would be appreciated

Thanks. I didnt search the archives thinking the search option would show what was available. A lot of good information in the archives on the subject!

Get the Kaatz DVD called “Glands, A Trappers Commodity.” It is very inexpensive and will pay for itself with the first glands you sell.

Well it'll pay for itself when it's someone that catchs enough to be able to have enough glands to sell! Lol

https://www.facebook.com/backwater.bait.5/videos/342221153176678/

i did a full tutorial on gland removal on canines/cats on my facebook page. I then deleted the videos off my phone so only have the files on the facebook page as a reference. I have fooled around for half an hour trying to save the video and just post it here but all it will do is link the main facebook video onto here.

Check in the comment section of that video as I linked several other videos there showing the actual glands that I cut out, not only on the carcass but also then laid out where you can clearly see what they look like.

Hope this helps, sorry I am tech challenged.

I've been saving coyote anal glands, and trimming them close, no hair, just gland and vent, and limited (1/2:" of colon) colon. It doesn't add up very fast.

I am not sure why I am saving them either. I did the same with fox, cats, otter, and mink.

I will trade you for one of my special venison meatloaves that I stole the recipe from a member on Tman last week.
