I have this farm pasture set up and last week the owner dumped out a whole bucket of fried chicken and the coyotes came out of the woodwork and ate it all up on a day. I have 5 sets out on this property and they walk rite by my sets almost daily. I did score some of that great fried chicken they threw out so hopefully they will like that to eat and I can connect with some of these coyotes before we get covered in snow this weekend. Anyone ever try using fried Chicken for bait?

When my daughter worked at KFC she brought home a lot of chicken. After the first few weeks we couldn't stand the thought of eating any more of it. That's when I started using it for bait. Try it I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

yep, been working for many of us for years

Chicken bait is also discussed in 1 of Nick Wyshinskis lure/bait making books

Grease/fats = highly attractive to canines as is or incorporated into bait.

Well I baited some hay sets with fried chicken last night and go figure I got robbed. I'm pretty sure I'm working with a crafty fox but I hope they will move tonight with the big snow

I would think KFC fryer grease drilled into the ground as a bait station would draw canines. Then you could set the trails coming into it. Of course, some states say “no exposed bait” but a light covering of grass would take care of that
