The big Toms measure in the 40" dried are big boys. I seen 44" I believe

Carcass measurement. NTB Anything over 36" is a XL

I never had a reason to weigh them.

I don't commonly weigh cats. I did often measure them. Like Jeff, I have boarded a 44" and a handful of 42" (less than 6) over the years.

I saw (and handled) a 48" cat one time that came from the Black River country out of FYU. It was well handled and quite narrow, but still a VERY impressive lynx. Think of how many bunnies died to put that sort of size on a cat!

My first was 27 pounds, catch & release in Maine. I'll check with the biologist and see what the weights run in Maine. Got my first Maine Marten, that went over 2 pounds, this year. he was only 2.1 pounds. A friend killed a 40.7 pound bobcat two days ago, in Maine.

I suspect that bobcats OVERALL are heavier than lynx just because the lynx might be operating in deeper snow on average and prey density may be a lot lower in lynx country

Ace Callaway.....I don't want to get banned for life so I'll just leave it at this, I don't think that is a reliable source of any information.

I rarely weigh my catches but for a school project one year I weighed some lynx. 31 pounds was the heaviest and he was an old snaggle toothed male. I’ve seen bigger but I think 30-35 pounds are probably the big ones. I’m sure there’s a few oversized ones out there though.

Depends who you talk to. I think southern Canadians use kilos. Pounds, feet, and miles still more commonly used up here.

We try measure every lynx pelt that comes through the office, 85 to 95cm (about 35" God save the Queen) is most common 110cm we have not reached yet, or so rarely that I don't remember about 10 years now we have been measuring.
