After catching 6 beavers fairly quickly and then nothing for 6 days, I decided to set for muskrats which had been plugging up my under ice 330 channel sets. Today I had a 39 pound beaver by the right front wrist in a Bridger 150 trigger carrot baited under ice pole set, trap at the bottom of the channel. I was lucky in that the pole happened to be stout (not all of my rat poles are), and it was cold so the pole was solidly iced in at the top. I realized that I need to secure the trap to something solid above ice other than just the pole for muskrats also, as I do for beaver.

Gotta love the surprise catches on the trapline.

I had a 30 pound Beaver in a Bridger 155 this season as well. Set on a bank den hole that I'm sure it wouldn't fit in . It was a perfect catch and the stake I had it set on wasn't moved a bit.

That would be a surprise. Happened to me a couple of seasons ago in and muskrat feed pile. Caught a average size beaver in a little #1 Northwoods coil.
