all, I'm a noob.. so if I'm in the wrong forum, say something stupid, or really dont get it, please ridicule me mercilessly so I dont forget.. :-)

BACKGROUND
i'm going after beavers in alabama. (so beavers with a southern accent) we have had them on the property for years and they cause all kinds of issues.. we own both sides of the creek for several miles, so access is not an issue..

I've found 3 large lodges, and have seen a number of them swimming about..

Question
I'd like to know if the MB750 foot trap is legal to use in alabama. the technical description in the rules are kinda confusing, but it always says "on land", so does that mean as long as it's in water I'm good? considering drowning rods castor mount kinda set.. I just wanna make sure im legal here..

here are the regs-->

https://www.outdooralabama.com/site...ing/Fur%20Catcher%20Code-Regs%201-18.pdf

tried to do the Al dept nat resources trappers course, but it was cancelled, and multiple emails and calls to the organizers and AL trappers org went unanswered.. so I'm grateful for guidance from some bama people (auburn is ok too )..

Thanks

Go to archives page here to get good info ....BUT IF it were me I'd contact an experienced Alabama trapper and have him help you....it's work it!

The mb750 is legal as long as it is used in a "water set". Castor mound, dam break, ect. Anything over a 6 inch jaw spread has to be a water set.
Snares and conis over a 5 inch spread (Basically anything over a 155) are also legally limited to use in water sets.

Don't make it harder than it is. Beavers are not that smart if you get them fast. Gang set with different Lures at your sets and they will come. As easy as 1,2,3. I will go 3-5 days depending on size of area, and clean them out and move on. Come back in a couple weeks to make sure you got them all.

Try to avoid misses if you use Legholds. I use Snares only and they always catch the Culprit. Gang Set and Be Gone.
