I have been using pogos for years. Never have had any problems. I like being able to set them without having to pound them into the ground, pilot hole and just push them in and then set them.
Help yourself.

No I always checked the thickness of washers before using them. Fender washers vary in thickness quite a bit. I would set the washer them tap the driver with the hammer and they would release. I have very sandy soil here.
Help yourself.

Yes several times, and I've had the J hook shear off in rocky ground too, with the best driver and other makes of them, I really like the way they hold though, just not for rocky ground, or you will bend washers and break J hooks.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm tight too and only 'dispose' of them if I can't pull or dig them out!

Get a full sized pick ax, use the point end in cable loop or swivel and pry it out, if it won't come out, the blade digs fast to get close to anchor, been doing this for 25 years I make my own pipe anchors too, buy pipe at metal shop, cut pieces with chop saw, then we'll a nut on top
