I have caught 3 coyotes from the same dirt hole in 12 days. Plus I had a visit but no commit today.Had same thing the other day but caught one next day. I have read that some guys have trouble catching 2 at the same dirt hole.

I caught 21 animals at the same dirt hole. 19 yotes, 1 red fox, and Moe the farm dog. This was at a dead pit and half of the yotes had mange. Out in the open country at a prime spot I would like to get 2-4 at the same set. By the way Moe was glad to see me and just fine.

one of mine had mange the other two were ok. last one I caught was well furred but was a little thin by about 3-5 lbs. Could feel his ribs easily and no fat when I skinned him.

Pawnee you must have a great number of coyotes in your area. The most I have ever caught in one set was 3. That was over an month and a half. I understand where you would see mange that is a lot of dogs in one area.

Caught 5 coyotes at same set in 20 days

I caught 2 coyotes and 2 bobcat in the same dirthole set in 13 days last season, and had 2 bobcat in 3 days in another and 3 coyotes in 9 days in another one, but I only run 5-10 traps at a time so I'm not a big timer

Repeat activity and a catch at a previous catch circle is (in my experience) a function of the animal population and climate/weather conditions. Higher populations and/or severe weather can overcome a lot of suspicion/curiosity an animal has about a previous catch site. Certainly the large bait stations (and human scent frequently associated with an added/new supply) has a lot of draw for critters trying to keep the calories coming in. Catch circles close-by are investigated more frequently and thus increase the chance for a catch. MOST fellows I talk to (through 50 years of this stuff) will catch 2-3 target animals (and maybe 3-4 non's) at 1 trap set. Move it and plant another set close-by and they may pick up 2 more. For those who have a 1 set location that can produce 4 or more target canines (DURING THE FALL/WINTER SEASON) consider yourself living right as my game cams have shown me limited re-visits to the circle after 2 targets are caught. Other parts of the country may be different but we go back to the animal population and calories needed..... my take

Iv'e taken as many as 20 from one location but no more than 4 from the same set, but they weren't dirt holes. Had to add fresh sets throughout the entire season.

We have very high numbers around feed yards. Especially feed yards close to towns. That dirt hole was set from the first of December to the middle of February. Just wanted to see how many I could get there. Also that yard had not been trapped for 2 years. It's taken me and mother nature 5 years to get a handle on the mange. This year i took 13 out of there that where mange free.

I caught four coyotes in four nights at the same set same trap missed the fifth three nights later by three or four inches. The only time i caught more then two fromthe same set.

Caught 4 coyotes in 6 nights from the same set. Then the grinners found the spot... lost count after 12.

I never change traps, although I see where some do religiously.

Density is the big answer to that question! I've got one location I keep a dirt hole working the entire season my best was 9. I notice now they are avoiding that immediate area! I shot my yotes and let the blood pool in the hole. Most times they show more interest in the blood than the attractor
