I'm not going to lure my snares. I get enough refusals when I just hang them In their line of travel. Know If I didn't have to exclude entanglement my odds would go way up.
I have used lure at my bait piles or Like ADC mentioned.

If you keep your snares back from the lure or bait 20 or more feet, you shouldn't have anymore refusals than any other time. At least I haven't seen it in brush. But again, my sample size isn't huge.

I'm just saying I'm not going to place my lure/bait right at the snare like some are advocating.

Hanging cable close at any of my sites would result in catching eagles around here . I try and keep them at least 50 ft away and never make em walk a distance to get in .

I wasn't talking about large visible baits. I use a smear type bait, like Caven's Predator Bait Plus, and smear a couple tablespoons on some brush. There's no danger to eagles, there's nothing visible. Same with lure, just smear some on some brush, and set a couple likely trails. Again, my sample size isn't very large, it obviously works somewhat, I've had some success, especially when they don't want to hit a large bait like this year. I'm sure it's more of a curiosity thing with them, not a hunger.

I've done that with LDC lure but I did It to get the coyotes to find my baits. But I suppose It would be the same principal.
