What are your thoughts on a 175 offset 4 coiled with outside lams. Its a victor i think not a duke for sure. Using it in an attempt of a front foot catch at a dam set up with a drowning rig. I'm short on money at the moment but I've got 1 left who's trap shy of my conis.Going to get a couple of better beaver footholds when I get the money. This is just a temporary thing. Also trap is strong.

Well If you get the trap on It's front foot you should be Ok . Don't let him get tangled up In anything or he will be gone.
Laminations aren't going to help you but If It's what you got go for It.

I agree with Beav. Any 1.75 will hold a beaver by the front foot. The problem is there's no guarantee of a front foot. It likely won't hold one by the hind foot and then you'll have a smart beaver.

Spot on.

You need to get that beaver walking and have that trap offset about 4" right or left. A 2 or 3 inch stepping stick or build a earthen berm so It has to step over and Into the trap. but walking Is the key.

Thanks. I knew it was pointless if I got a back foot. I feel like this is the only beaver left in the pond. Worst case sceniro I'll post up at night and snipe him. Lol
