Another vote for regular jaw. I’ve been told offset don’t work well because of how the anatomy the beavers foot is, the foot can slip out of offset.

I was thinking the regular jaws was what was best but i saw some in the shed and was debating making him an offer since they been to the top 3x and not sold. You could change the five offsets to regular by replacing the jaws. They are $3.45 a set.

Another vote for regular jaw. . AGREE with Paul and Rob......WHEN you get one or 2 toes held in a closed jaw, you will realize, "he would NOT be waiting for me, had it been offset jaws." That's about the FIRST LESSON Paul taught me at our convention in '03 when I met him for the first time and I was starting to trap beavers.

This morning I arrived to him sitting on the dam with my railroad iron and trap attached to him. Apparently the rr plate doesn't weigh enough to drown a good beaver I arrived to an almost empty trap. Note the missing left front appendage. He either didn't go very deep or he managed to get the drowning lock worked back up the cable. I got him in a 330 under the ice some time later. Wow. Nice.

WTG!...keep it up.........and, oh, it.takes about 5 tie plates. seriously you need that many. I've watched people drown them with a concrete block, and I know the iron weighs more.

I agree. More weight. However, I have converted to drowning rods, and won't go back.would much rather drag a couple of 10'x1/2" pieces of rebar than cement blocks.
Just doing what I want now.
