I have been switching over my inventory to both the extreme traps and want to know what you experience has been working with them around cattle. I manage a ranch that has steer operation. Import 500 weight steers in February and export 1000 weight steers in late summer. I have ran Bridger 2s and 3s and miscellanies other styles and sizes with out any problems. The extremes seem to be a little tougher, meaning I have held some 200 lb hogs in them.
Thanks
Bubba

I also take care of a ranch and run both of those traps. I usually try to not set in pastures where I have cattle but sometimes you can't avoid it. I've caught deer, ewes, lambs, guard dogs and of coarse all the critters I'm really after, but never cattle. They held all with ease, and I would not be surpised if they would hold 500 lbs steers if they got caught deep enough. Had a government trapper tell me one time of catching a 4 year old bull in an mb650 on a drag and it held him. Most of the time around cattle I just find mine set off. Trench sets, or large rocks around a set will help deter cattle some too.

Be careful Bubba, the extreme will hold a 150 to 200 pound calf or an adult white tail deer. Stake well.

I was thinking they might also. I have a lot of rock in my country so most of my traps are on drags. I try to use enough blocking’s to keep them out but it slows the catch down always have some snapped when they are in the pasture but usually aren’t moved out of the bed. May have to use the smaller traps in the pastures with the steers. Thanks for your reply’s

I've held 500 lb with bridger 2's multiple times. I wouldn't use the extremes in a cattle pasture.
