Tonight, we had a little surf & turf with king crab legs, some bacon wrapped filet and a wild mushroom pasta.

Too many carbs there, but boy, that pasta was good! We'll start behaving again this week!

What's on your table tonight? I hope you're all having a great evening! grin

Thank you, Coonman! Your chicken and sausage jambalaya sounds wonderful!

Thanks, Hrdtoflw!

Adam, I know enough about your cooking to know that anything you'd make would be excellent. grin

Thanks, Les! Another great supper at your place. Are those your own canned stewed tomatoes from summer?

Awe thanks Patrice. Seriously nothing to write home about. Refried beans and ground beef tostadas with mozzarella and jalapenos. Thought I still had tomatoes to make salsa but I was mistaken frown
My daughter did a good job frying up the corn tortillas

Yes Patrice, fresh frozen in ziplocks, actually, but with that little dose of salt you would use had you canned them.

Ironically I had King crab And King Salmon soup with cream cheese . Its awesome . I get tired of plain legs. Use a scissors and cut the legs into small sections and can just suck them out of the shell.

It looks great, Adam! What, none of that tasty canned salsa you have available over there to use in an emergency? grin (That was good!) Thanks for the photo!

Ah, Les! So your venison, your own potatoes, eggs from your chickens, and your own stewed tomatoes. Sounds like heaven on a plate ... balanced carefully on the edge of the table. laugh

Wonderful stuff there on your table, Marty!

Well, there's a bowl of fine stuff, Yukonjeff! I suspect that was slightly more fresh than what we get here in cheeseland! laugh Thanks for the photo!

Thanks. Lol laugh actually, we got groceries today and I actually thought about buying a jar but then I convinced myself I have everything I need to make salsa so i didn't buy a jar. It was a sad moment realizing I would only have jalepenos that were as spicy as a cucumber.

I learned a scissors makes it easy, just cut up each side of the legs, workes great. In Seattle they gave me a wooden Mallet !! I didn't want to make crab mush lol

Watch out for that pine float Ken. I suppose ya is alright up in Alaska where there are no hardwoods.
I have seen folks get Dutch Elm Disease from that down here.

Geez! Do you ever just have a Big Mac Value meal for dinner? I’m sure you would still have to put on some colorful plates though?

Yukonjeff, we actually set the table with scissors when we make crab legs. We have two pairs of heavy kitchen shears we throw on the platter with the crab - along with a pair of gloves just for grabbing hot spiny crab legs while cutting them open. grin

Too funny, Adam! I could deal with the wimpy jalapenos!

Thanks, Niteprowler! You know, I absolutely love a hot dog on a nice soft white bun and I also loveKraft mac and cheese with it!!! Man! That's good stuff in my book! I also like to have one of those little bags of potato chips with it for a little crunch. Those are the days when I just enjoy a fun, tasty, simple meal and no matter what - I do NOT read the ingredients on the packaging. Just enjoy!

Thanks, White! Did you eat something evil that you're making up for now? laugh

That is some really good classic food, Grayfox! We're beet fans here, so Zim grows them and we love a pile of beets with a meal.

I do, Handitrapper! I love a Big Mac, I love a Filet-O-Fish and I love McDonald's french fries! Next time, I will take some photos!

One time, I set out to reproduce a Big Mac and McDonald's fries and posted it. I put some considerable study into that. It was good! I'll find the photos ...

Wonderful German grandmother! Boy, could she cook up a storm! I try to get my hands on any recipe I can of hers, but she didn't write everything down in detail. She did a lot from memory. grin

That's incredible. I bet she could cook up a storm and that explains why you do too. That's how my mom and auntys are, everything is from memory and feel.

I can't hold a candle to my mom's or auntys cooking and I cooked professionally for roughly 10 years. Sure there's a lot I can cook they can't but they will still whoop my butt in the kitchen then they'll feed it to me

The boy and I were on our own tonight so we had Idaho surf and turf, fried perch and elk burgers. Sautéed a red pepper and an onion to go with it. Sorry no pictures.

I love it, Range! That's a fine version of surf & turf. We like sauteing peppers and onions for a quick side too!

I agree.

Tonight I made teriyaki chicken with lomein noodles (red bells, cabbage, mushroom, carrots, green beans). The kids weren't too thrilled about the noodles

Oh, that sounds great, Gutthooked! There is never a bad day for chicken noodle soup.

I'll bet it was good though, Adam! Why wouldn't they like the noodles?

Honestly I'm not sure why they didn't like them. Maybe because it's not panda express.
