I bought a bullet type stake driver From The Snare shop. Went to use it for the first time drove it into some frozen ground ,first 6in went perfect the next little bit was a little bit difficult I pulled it out of the ground.
The tip of the driver is bent at a 40-degree angle. This is my first time using this type of a staking system and I am wondering if this is normal or just my bad luck?

Should add, the soil type is into a soft deciduous based rainforest floor void of rocks, possibly some spruce tree roots

First use wolf fangs....secondly purchase the driver tip for the wolf fangs and weld your own together so you can make it reall freaking strong if need be that would solve any problems related to bent tips on your drivers and if you cant weld your own the one that freedom brand sells with the t handle is really sturdy.

My first Snare Shop driver held up really well. I got another one to use for this season, and I’m not sure if they have somebody else making them now or what, but they are not the same quality as my first one. The only reason I like them is because I still have a few Iowa Disposables floating around and it will drive them too. I won’t be buying another one from them. My tip bent pretty fast, and the top came loose just as quick. I’ve welded it back together twice so far this season. My next one will have the floating handle on it.

Mobley that thing will probably work great in the Alabama sand but i see problems using it in tight or frozen ground . That oversized shaft might make it tough but also tough to drive !

Golf ball- that driver works fine here in Michigan soil as far as driving ability goes, but the whole thing is JUNK! That "over sized shaft" is actually a sleeve, with a solid bar inside. I made a post about it a while back. I don't know who makes it, I can't remember who I bought mine from (at the NTA in Escanaba last year) but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DRIVER! Mine broke twice before I pitched it. First time, you can see in the pics. I re-welded it. 2nd time, the same thing happened but the tip also broke off. I noticed when it was apart the first time, that the solid bar on the inside had a major weak spot near the end.
Cmobley- if you know the maker of this driver, PLEASE PM me.

I would buy one from stalker . I bought one in Herkimer this year and I never set a trap till the Saturday before Christmas and the ground was froze when I started and I never had a problem with the driver. I beat on that thing so hard I broke one hammer and the second one is in need of repair as well. He makes quality tools
