Had a little fat on him, but I'd consider him scrawny. Must have been a weak old man. Caught him in a coyote snare and he didn't fight it much. No kinks, very little alder chewing. Sleeping when I rolled up. He spent some time chewing (gumming?) on the snare. Was held by one strand when I got there. Apparently not strong enough to break one strand before I shot him? I've caught two in coyote/ fox snares before and they kinked that cable like heck, and killed themselves fighting the snare pretty quick. Pretty sure this was his last winter even without my help.
